how I treat

individual therapy

If you are struggling with anxiety or depression,  or you are involved in a difficult relationship, or perhaps you can’t seem to manage a particular problem in your life, then individual therapy might be right for you.

In therapy we will dive in and address that problem in-depth.  This  will give you the opportunity to analyze more deeply the cause and contributors to the problem and you will learn how to cope bette and acquire  skills and strategies to manage that problem or root out that problem.  You will find better ways to live through life’s challenges in a lasting way.

In the supportive therapy environment, you will have the opportunity to address problems on a comprehensive level. You will have the opportunity to analyze the nature of the problem and how you have become entrenched in the problem.  You will learn ways to change thoughts, behaviors and emotional experiencing so that you cope with that problem effectively.  You will cultivate the skills necessary to change problems that are changeable, along with finding better ways to tolerate painful aspects of your life that are unchangeable.  This more in-depth approach enables lasting changes, that can positively shape your personality, coping style, and future trajectory of your life.

couples counseling

If you need help improving your relationship, couples therapy  will help you gain insight into your unhelpful relationship patterns and will help you learn essential tools to help you reconnect.

family therapy

If you are finding that family members are not getting along and the family system is not working well, family therapy can help improve family communication, re-establish and nurture relationships, and help family members support each other through difficult stressors and challenges.
